So I woke up Monday morning before Aeris and had to drag my sorry ass out of bed while she could just remain asleep...first time in a long time (when it's not the weekend) that I've had to get out of bed earlier than Aeris because I had to go to work...and she didn't because of the extra long weekend due to the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday!
Just another typical busy day at work...it seemed like with each email I sent out, another one came into my inbox! *sigh* I guess Mondays are like that...next Monday will be even busier, given that the results come out this Thursday and our offices are closed on Friday because we're having a cross-campus Meeting Day, so we'll have to deal with all the queries that will no doubt have built up on the Friday and over the weekend! Ah well.
It was supposed to be a top of 33 degrees yesterday...unseasonal heat for Spring, though we HAVE entered the last month of Spring and the days should start warming up pretty quickly from hereon in. As long as it's not too hot during our big day...I'd definitely want it to be sunny but not scorching hot! But the temperature only got to a top of 29 I think. Adelaide had a scorcher and I believe Sydney today felt the heatwave that we were SUPPOSED to get so we're lucky to have missed it!
Aeris came to pick me up from work and we went to Carnegie to meet Marcelo for dinner at Kimchi Grandma. Yummmm. It's been a couple of months since we last caught up with him so we stayed well until past 9pm just chatting. He's not having the best last couple of weeks, so just hoping things start looking up for him.
Came back, watched The Apprentice Australia and a few episodes of Seinfeld and then went to bed, silently sobbing that I had to go to work on Melbourne Cup Day, a Victorian public holiday, when just about everyone else (not in the service industry anyway) was having a day off, chilling, doing absolutely nothing, or more likely, meeting up with mates to watch the big race and getting smashed.
