Pre-wedding photo shoot...but without the bouquet of flowers!

I had an RDO today but I still went to work early in the morning to finish up some of the work I hadn't finished yesterday. I needed to get some of the paperwork into today's mail run because our office I was missing a day of work. Plus all our Arts/Ed Student Support Offices were closed today because of a cross-campus meeting over at the Waterfront campus so our entire office would be behind one day's worth of work.

Came back home and the make-up and hair person was already working on Aeris; we were having a pre-wedding photo shoot with our photograph (as part of the photography wedding package we had purchased with Kane Jarrod Photography) in the early afternoon and this was a trial make-up run. The make-up artiste took longer than we expected, but on the wedding day itself it should be a lot quicker.

Aeris had also ordered a bouquet of flowers for the pre-wedding photo shoot so I walked over to Flower Trends at the Burwood Heights to pick up and pay for the flowers:

Unfortunately, as we were rushing out of house to get down to Fitzroy Gardens, I had completely forgotten to take the flowers! $45 wasted! It worked out well though because that meant the pre-wedding or "engagement" shots weren't so "wedding" formal. The photographer, Kane, was actually quite surprised that we turned up in a wedding gown and suit; most Australians think the engagement shots are actually very informal and he was expecting up to turn up in jeans and casual wear!

It was a really good and fun shoot; it was a bit strange that we were in wedding attire because we attracted a lot of attention from people passing through Fitzroy Gardens, but Kane guided us through the shots and we had a lot of fun doing it and just being natural...laughing our way through most of the shoot! Just under 500 shots were taken! Which was pretty scary for a 50 minute shoot. Anyway, we'll have to make an appointment with Kane sometime next week to have a look at the engagement shots so that we can choose a few and even get one printed out to use for the wedding in a few weeks' time.

First time I got to drive Aeris' Honda Civic VTi-L as well; it felt so completely different from my Holden Barina. But it felt really good to drive though it was a bit awkward for me because it was longer and wider than the Barina so I couldn't gauge distance as well. Certainly couldn't do the parallel parking; Aeris had to do that because I'm just not used to this car and the length!

Went to LP Body Works to pick up the Holden Barina; they've changed the windscreen, replaced the mirror and fixed the window, so all is good now; car is ready for when Francis and Kelvin get here so they can use it for a few days while they are here!

Meeting Chris and Juliet at the new China Bar Seafood Buffet place at the corner of the Burwood Highway and Springvale Road at Burwood East; even though it's $49 per head and even children under 3 years old have to pay $10, Juliet's heard some good things about the seafood there and I'm really looking forward to eating dinner there. Didn't eat lunch so I think I'll be pretty hungry when we get there for dinner tonight! Can also discuss some of our wedding stuff with Chris since we're asking him to be the emcee during the reception.
