I want to go to the China Bar Asian Buffet again!

So I'm awake now at just a few minutes past 3am, courtesy of a phone call that was received almost an hour ago at 2am, from one of my uncles in Singapore. :P How annoying; Mum received two calls from him as well; apparently he doesn't know there is a 3 hour time difference between Melbourne and Singapore. Not happy given that I have had very little sleep since my parents arrived here and I'm wide awake right now AND have to go to work in a few hours' time.

I guess it's a good time to blog since I haven't done so since last Friday.

Met Chris and Juliet at the new China Bar Seafood Buffet place at Burwood East; there were two dining sessions and we had reservations for the later one between 8pm to 10pm. The place was absolutely packed! They had a walk-in book and a reservations book and I think a walk-in that night was an absolute no-no!

We got one of the booths which gave us a lot of seating room and comfy couches! Yay for ambience! The four of us were absolutely amazed by the spread of food that was available. Sushi, seafood, dimsum stuff, food that you can ask the cooks/chefs to stir fry on the spot, roasted meats (duck, bbq pork, roast pork), Peking duck, soups, congee, heaps of other steamed, fried, braised Chinese foods, etc, a huge dessert and fruit section, and they even had roti prata and various curries! It was a very impressive spread indeed.

So we took our time getting food and 2 hours flew by very quickly since we were chatting and talking about our upcoming wedding and stuff. The Peking duck and the make-your-own-congee-with-century-and-salted-eggs were my favourite dishes for the night and I kept going back for more! Was very full even though I don't think I ate as much I normally would during a buffet. Ah well...there's always next time. Want to try out the lunch buffet sometime in the future, which was half the price but also without the seafood. I still think the spread would be pretty huge for the lunch buffet.

Friday also marked the last day for a while where the temperature was less than 30 degrees Celsius.
